Pizza night

Dear diary,

I was craving pizza the other day...

But I was determined not to chose the Domino's, papa John's or Famiglia options. I hate those pizzas because of the excessive oil! This is too junk for me and I can't stand it...

I was craving a homemade pizza, with fluffy dough and tasty ingredients. The one that you bake and you fill the house with the homemade-baking smells....

I made the dough and let it rise. I added my ingredients and baked three pizzas.

All three were very good...

I admire my blogger-friend Magda for her cooking and photography. But also for several really explanatory and detailed posts like this one. I encourage you to go through her beautiful instructions on how to make pizza dough.

I made a dough like Magda's, using yeast, milk, olive oil, sugar, salt, flour and water. I let it rise, almost twice its original size and made three different pizzas with the ingredients I had in the fridge and pantry.

A mediterranean one.
A more "americanized" version.
A vegetarian one.

I used a red sauce for all of them. However, the different ingredients were the one to give a unique character in each of the three.

The Mediterranean pizza

Sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese, onions and fresh basil

The American pizza

Turkey bacon, pecorino romano and BBQ sauce

The vegetarian pizza

Red pepper, broccoli, tomato, blue cheese, heavy cream

Notes
1. I never boil broccoli, so that it doesn't lose its nutritional value.
2. I added the heavy cream (1.5 cup) in the end, on top of everything.

My favorite pizza of the three was the last one! The dough was fluffier and the toppings complemented each other, giving a delicious surprise. I haven't use heavy cream in the past, but this time I did and I loved it! Heavy cream made each bite more juicy!

Oh, and before the end of this post!
Look at my first DIY! I'm so proud of it! It's a chalkboard that I made by myself with really cheap material. Maybe I should blog about it!

Until later!

Yours,
Jenny
